Each commission is a sacred undertaking. Please share your vision, and I will respond personally within 48 hours to discuss how we might bring your icon to life.
HOW THE COMMISSION PROCESS WORKS
Initial Conversation
You share who the icon is for, any feast dates, dimensions, and whether it is intended for a home, chapel, or parish.
This helps me understand the spiritual context, not just the technical requirements.
Design & Quotation
Based on your notes, I propose subject options, composition (single figure, feast, multi-scene), and an approximate price and schedule.
No commitment is made until you feel at peace with the proposal.
Confirmation & Deposit
Once we agree on the design, size, and deadline, a deposit confirms the commission and secures your place in the schedule.
I then prepare the panel, underdrawing, and gilding in a carefully sequenced workflow.
Painting & Updates
I work in traditional stages (proplasmos, mid-tones, lights, final glazes). I can share a few work-in-progress photos if you wish.
The focus remains on prayerful, attentive work rather than constant documentation.
Varnishing & Delivery
After sufficient drying, the icon is varnished, photographed, and carefully packed for shipment or personal pickup when possible.
You receive care instructions to help the icon age well over generations.
